DESCRIPTION:The Auger headline tour will get underway on Friday the 1st of April 2022\, with a show at the NE Volume Music Bar\, in Stockton-on-Tees. \n\n\n\nThis will be extra special for a number of reasons. SUMMARY:1919 + La Rissa + Civil Service - PAYF Ukraine benefit show
DESCRIPTION:1919 and La Rissa present a night of classic and contemporary gothic and post-punk music in aid of the Leeds Ukrainian Community Centre’s ongoing fundraising efforts. \n\n\n\n1919 is a post-punk band from Bradford\, considered an original contributor to the goth genre. Starting life with indie chart hits such as club-favourite “Cry Wolf”\, their Machine LP\, and two Peel sessions in the early ‘80s\, 1919 returned after a 30-year hiatus to release 2017’s critically-acclaimed Bloodline LP (Westworld) and 2019’s Futurecide (Cleopatra). The band emerged from quarantine with their fourth studio album in 2021 – their most ambitious work to date. Welcoming new bass player Ding Archer (PJ Harvey\, The Pixies\, The Fall) to the fold\, and following vocalist Rio Goldhammer’s bid to become Mayor of West Yorkshire (NME)\, the band’s latest effort is out on Paris indie stalwart Manic Depression Records and is described in Vive le Rock as “head and shoulders above other denizens of the shadowy genre.” \n\n\n\nLa Rissa is one of West Yorkshire’s most exciting contemporary acts. Humbly self-described as “2 misfits making dark spooky synth pop in a dim little attic in Leeds”\, the band has featured on BBC 6 Music\, Radio 1\, and recently dropped their latest track ‘Parties’ on a live session for BBC Introducing. \n\n\n\nManchester post-rockers Civil Service open proceedings. The band’s brand new EP Life /// Death is out now\, and £1 from each physical sale will go towards humanitarian aid in Ukraine. \n\n\n\nLeeds Ukrainian Community Centre have worked tirelessly to gather financial and material donations for displaced people and volunteer soldiers in Ukraine and western Poland\, and their efforts have provided everything from sanitary products and winter clothing to night-vision goggles and satellite telephones.
