DESCRIPTION:Summer on the Dark Side of the Tyne – while some may be worshipping the sun\, we’ll we at the altar of the almighty musical pairing of Westenra and Black Rain \n\n\n\nSince exploding onto the UK goth scene in 2019 ::WESTENRA:: have been building a reputation for captivating live performances of their stylish and atmospheric sound. Their debut album “First Light”was released in January 2021 to rave reviews\, followed by a cover version of the Cliff Richard classic “Devil Woman” in March 2022 – a taster for the new\, bigger sound featured on the four track EP “BREATHE” which was released in July 2022. Their version of Iron Maiden’s “Number of The Beast” – originally meant as an exclusive live performance to celebrate their headlining the Whitby Krampus Run Ball – was released in February 2023\, with proceeds going to the Whitby Krampus Run chosen charities. 18 months after originally being scheduled to be part of the inaugural Dark Side of the Tyne Weekender\, they finally touch down at the Black Bull this June \n\n\n\nAlongside Westenra\, Sunderland’s own Black Rain who have been going from strength to strength – the mantra of “too punk to be goth\, too goth to be punk” gives creedence to the fact that there’s no pigeon-holing their sound\, it’s guitar driven\, rich\, dark and intense. \n\n\n\nThis is all alongside our usual-unusual mix of post punk\, industrial\, Goth rock\, deathrock\, EBM\, New Wave\, Coldwave\, Darkwave\, Neue Deutsche Hart\, and various other alternative musical goodies. DESCRIPTION:We’re returning with force to the Castle\, with three bands for another brilliant alternative night. \n\n\n\nThe unspeakable Beinaheleidenschaftsgegenstand bring a dark\, ambient introduction to our night with their surreal and artistic works. \n\n\n\nWe follow that with the more upbeat gothic rhythms of Attrition\, who’s melodic and percussive masterpieces paint stark pictures with dark fixtures. \n\n\n\nWith the energy built up\, we’ve also got our old friends at Cyph_On\, who got their start performing live with us\, with their hard hitting and rage fuelled blend of metal\, industrial and punk\, raising the fundamental problems of the world with their lyrics. \n\n\n\nOnce the bands have been successfully exhausted\, we’ve got 3 brilliant DJs in DJ Ultravixen\, DJ Conal\, and DJ CyberCheetah. Each bringing their own personal twisted styles to the dance floor. Expect harder hitting beats and distortion as the night goes on. \n\n\n\nFinally\, Luton Council moved Luton Pride night to this night\, and we’re absolutely here for it! Whilst we’ve told the DJs to expect a bit more colour on the dance-floor than usual\, our scene has always been accepting of all tolerant people. It’ll be good to share in these celebrations

Witness their gruesome graduation and come cheer along the next generation of monsters in Sheffield at The Showroom Workstation this June!  \n\n\n\nThey will also be joined by some truly terrifying up and coming monsters on the UK drag scene\, we can’t wait for you to meet them!   \n\n\n\nDoors 7.30pm \n\n\n\nShow Starts 8pm  \n\n\n\nEvent finishes approx 10.30pm \n\n\n\nThis is a seated event. Seating is in the form of individuals chairs with high backs.
