Please have you ticket on your phone or printed for ease. \n\n\n\nCode 64 (Sweden / Beat:Cancer Debut)\n\n\n\nCode 64 is a Swedish synthpop band formed in 2000\, known for their melodic electronic sound that blends elements of synthwave and alternative music. \n\n\n\nTheir last UK was over 12 years ago and we are excited to have them join us in Leeds for their Beat:Cancer debut. \n\n\n\nMethod Cell\n\n\n\nFounded in early 2008\, UK based industrial synthcore unit Method Cell quickly gained a reputation as one of the most exciting\, innovative electronic acts to emerge out of the UK underground scene. Combining high energy harmonics and acerbic lyrics with searing bass and beats\, Method Cell prove there’s more to a club hit than swearing by numbers\, and industrial doesn’t have to mean monotone. \n\n\n\nSpray (Beat:Cancer Debut)\n\n\n\nFounded in 2001\, Spray is comprised of Ricardo Autobahn (synthesizers) and Jenny McLaren (vocals\, guitars)\, both formerly of Cuban Boys\, who took their chaotic technopunk to number 1 on the Festive 50 (twice)\, recorded one of the best Peel Sessions ever and went head-to-head with Sir Cliff Richard in a Christmas Chart Battle. \n\n\n\nSpray were the secret weapon behind the UK’s 2006 Eurovision hit Teenage Life\, having written and produced it with their friend Daz Sampson\, as well as singing the treated vocals for the track. \n\n\n\nIn the midst of that whirligig of electronic wizardry\, the duo dropped a series of cover versions – many suggested by their fan base – which eventually became the Songs Already Sung album. You’ll always get the unexpected with Spray\, whether it’s songs about cats in space\, the traffic lights of Berlin\, or paying homage to the lyrical genius of Chas & Dave.

DESCRIPTION:2004: Independent UK record label Wasp Factory Recordings has recently released debut albums by three bands on its roster – Earth Loop Recall’s ‘Compulsion’\, Faetal’s ‘[sic]’ and DeathBoy’s ‘Music To Crash Cars To’ – all to critical acclaim. As well as being labelmates\, these three groups have also formed a strong camaraderie – collaborating and performing live together on several occasions throughout the year in support of their respective albums. \n\n\n\n2024: The frontmen from the three bands have once again joined forces for a special one-off reunion show at The Black Heart\, which will see their bands sharing a bill for the first time in over 20 years. Whether or not you were there in 2004\, don’t miss it. \n\n\n\nThis Is Radio Silence (TIRS) are a post-punk/electro/industrial/shoegaze band from the south-east of England\, formed in 2008 by Ben McLees after the break-up of Earth Loop Recall.TIRS has undergone several line-up changes since its formation\, but in recent years has been represented by the core trio of McLees (vocals\, guitar)\, Geoff Courts (bass & guitar\, 2010-present) and Hunter Barr (keys\, 2012-present). \n\n\n\nRenowned for their intense & loud live shows\, TIRS have supported groups such as The Chameleons\, The Young Gods\, Empathy Test\, Bootblacks and Ashbury Heights in the UK. The band also played a memorable headline show at The Black Heart in 2023.Currently working on the follow-up to 2023’s self-titled double album (regarded as ‘the band’s definitive statement’- Compulsion Online) and augmented to a quartet with the recent addition of guitarist Julian Perris\, the band’s return to The Black Heart promises to be one to remember. \n\n\n\nhttp://tirs.uk \n\n\n\nDeathBoy is the brainchild of Scott Lamb\, the prolific writer/producer who formed the band in 2002 after several years of working as a solo artist. \n\n\n\nAfter signing to Wasp Factory Recordings later that year\, DeathBoy released their commercial debut album ‘Music To Crash Cars To’ in 2003 and built a loyal following in the UK with their tense and emotional live shows (including dates supporting the likes of Tricky\, Rico and Sheep on Drugs) and alternative festival appearances. \n\n\n\nDeathBoy released their second commercial album ‘End of An Error’ on Line Out Records in 2006. Considered by many to be the band’s masterpiece\, the album was co-produced by Lamb\, John Fryer and Rico. Lead single ‘Black Morning’ also featured on the Xbox 360 game Project Gotham Racing 3. \n\n\n\nWhile the band (paired down to Lamb and bassist Adam Gelman) have made only very rare live appearances since 2010\, Lamb has continued to produce & release music under the DeathBoy name\, producing seven albums since ‘End Of An Error’ which have continued to showcase their unique blend of industrial\, breakbeat\, trip hop and punk music.
