SUMMARY:The Calling Clubnight! (Goth/EBM/Darkwave/80s)
DESCRIPTION:The year is 2023 – you’ve survived those final working days\, the festive events\, various meals\, new years’ antics….. finally the Calling is here to get you back to the tunes that matter! \n\n\n\nNote\, there’s only a music license until 11pm\, so get along in good time to have a dance – however the pub itself is open until 2 so there’s far more time to socialise. \n\n\n\nPlease bring cash along for donations to keep us going!  \n\n\n\nTo everyone attending\, if you can\, please take a LFT before attending. We want to make this as safe as possible for everyone attending. Let’s work to keep everyone safe – and if you choose not to\, please respect those wanting to social distance and wear masks. \n\n\n\nEntrance is free but any donations are massively welcomed (will need to be in cash). They’ll be used to cover costs and split across the DJs\, no plan for any profit\, although that is always nice!

SUMMARY:Transylvampyre
DESCRIPTION:“Listen to them … the children of the night. What music they make!” — Dracula\nInspired by tales written by Sheridan le Fanu\, Bram Stoker and Anne Rice\, Transylvampyre brings together the latest supernatural musical offerings of Patrick Samuel — for one night only at the Dugdale Arts Centre.\nGothic romance\, postpunk resurrection and undead improv with the incandescent melodies of the Persian santoor played by Patrick’s long-time creative partner\, Uwe Nietzold — for an evening of music\, madness and unearthly mayhem. \nAbout the artist\nBased in Enfield\, Patrick is a visual artist\, multi-instrumentalist\, singer and songwriter whose music can be best described as a blend of goth-rock and synth-pop with a dash of eastern flavourings.\nAs a neurodiverse creative with synesthesia\, Patrick’s visual style and presence on stage helps him to communicate his music with a colourful flare that’s both edgy and entrancing. Signed to the UK independent label for autistic musicians\, Tiergarten Records\, Patrick has so far released 3 studio albums\, an EP\, 17 music videos and performed at various venues.

SUMMARY:RESCHEDULED: Zanias - 2022 UK TOUR + Die Arkitekt + Dead Lights
DESCRIPTION:Zanias Biography: (Fleisch records /Noiztank/ Candella Rising) \n\n\n\nZanias is a singer\, performer\, producer and DJ based in Berlin. She found her voice when she teamed up with Ryan Ambridge to form Linea Aspera\, and later the band Keluar with Sid Lamar of Schwefelgelb. There she co-founded the body music record label ‘Fleisch’. In 2016 Zanias released her debut EP ‘To the Core’ on Vienna’s Noiztank label\, followed by an EP of remixes by producers such as Dax J and Unhuman in 2017. Her live sets are a spectacle and catharsis led by an intense vocal performance\, while in her DJ sets she expresses this emotive force in the form of evocative melodies intricately woven through industrial beats and EBM basslines. \n\n\n\nhttps://soundcloud.com/zanias https://www.facebook.com/zoe.zanias/ https://www.instagram.com/zoe_zanias/

What a song!”\n– Richard Shaw\, Cradle of Filth \n“It’s a really unique blend of djent\, industrial\, electro\, goth\, emo\, metal and much more. I love the dramatics and cinematic quality it has\, with haunting\, melancholy colors swooping betwixt the cruel\, relentless jaws of the machine.”\n– Ben Christo\, The Sisters of Mercy \n“Leviathan is a wonderful song\, feels like a modern day opera with heavy guitars set on fire! Melancholic and haunting\, the vocals cut deep. A truly inspired song.”\n– Michael Falcore\, The Birthday Massacre \n\nReformed in 2016\, Esprit D’Air is a Japanese electronic rock/metal solo project led by vocalist\, multi-instrumentalist\, and producer\, Kai. In 2018\, Esprit D’Air won ‘Best Metal Album‘ at The Independent Music Awards in New York\, for the release of their debut album\, Constellations\, judged by an esteemed panel featuring Slayer\, Amy Lee (Evanescence)\, Sepultura & more. \nKai is not seeking a major record label but instead\, follows a strong DIY ethos and produces everything himself to be as self-sufficient as possible. Consequently\, they record and produce their own releases in their own home recording studio\, and book and promote their own shows. \nKai adds: \n“The Oceans album took almost four years to create. My laptop containing all of my work-in-progress was stolen in 2019 and I had to start all over again from 2020. In the past two years\, I worked hard and collaborated with awesome people to finish the album and we also have our fans to thank for crowdfunding it.” \nThe 20-track album Oceans is out now on Apple Music\, Spotify & hmv. \nTickets are available here. \nEsprit D’Air 2023 UK Tour Dates: \n\n17 Feb: Cardiff\, The Globe\n19 Feb: York\, The Fulford Arms\n20 Feb: Newcastle upon Tyne\, The Cluny\n21 Feb: Edinburgh\, La Belle Angele\n22 Feb: Manchester\, Academy 3\n23 Feb: Birmingham\, O2 Academy3\n25 Feb: London\, The Black Heart (Private Patreon Party)\n\nLinks: \n\nhttps://www.espritdair.com\nhttps://www.facebook.com/espritdair\nhttps://www.instagram.com/espritdairofficial\nhttps://twitter.com/espritdair\nhttps://www.youtube.com/espritdairofficial\nhttps://www.patreon.com/espritdair

We’ve put on regular events at Lancaster’s Park Hotel and Yorkshire House with guest DJs and live acts from across the UK. We play a wide range of genres under our umbrella of “alternative electronic music” – covering everything from dance floor friendly synthwave at early doors – to pounding gabber in the early hours! We’re not afraid of shameless floor fillers\, cheese and cheeky bootlegs / remixes – and we try not to take ourselves too seriously! \n\n\n\n▼▽▼▽▼▽▼▽▼▽▼▽▼▽▼▽ \n\n\n\nABOUT THE VENUE \n\n\n\nKanteena is a 500m2 repurposed warehouse\, in the centre of Lancaster. Now a bustling food court\, bar\, social space and venue\, the collaborative\, DIY spirit of it’s rebirth is signified by the acts\, artists and events that we have hosted as well as those yet to come.Atika is Kanteena’s intimate 120 capacity upstairs venue with it’s own sound system and bar.(Please note the room is accessible by stairs only)We’ll be transforming the space with our own decor\, lighting\, UV and lasers! \n\n\n\n▼▽▼▽▼▽▼▽▼▽▼▽▼▽▼▽ \n\n\n\nDJ DURACELL BUNNY \n\n\n\nDJ Duracell Bunny is a barely contained source of energy bouncing behind the decks! \n\n\n\n2022 saw her cross genre skills come to light – smashing some of the biggest EBM and hard dance parties accross the UK from Resistanz Festival to London’s Xtreme Hard Dance parties. Supporting DJs and bands like Billx\, The Gothsicles\, Straftanz\, Rotersand\, Dougal\, Ivardensphere… and some up and coming act called “CYFERDYNE”. Expect EBM classics and hard dance bangers! \n\n\n\nResident DJ for Sentinel\, Beat:Cancer and the new Beat:Cancer Harder brand – this bunny is going hard for 2023! \n\n\n\nDJ PEEWEE \n\n\n\nKarkasaurus (Peewee) is known for energetic sets with crazy covers\, hard remixes and fun bootlegs covering industrial\, hardstyle\, hardcore and frenchcore. \n\n\n\nPeewee has had the pleasure of DJing all over the UK including DJ Mag top 100 clubs such as Ministry of Sound\, XOYO and World Headquarters. \n\n\n\nPeewee has supported hard dance heroes such as Headhunterz\, Keltek\, Billx\, Hixxy\, Darren Styles and Dougal as well as a number of industrial/goth icons including Nitzer Ebb\, She Wants Revenge\, iVardensphere & Rotersand. \n\n\n\nAfter streaming for Ritual noise during covid\, Peewee is looking forward to visiting the club in real life. \n\n\n\nDJ MCBAIN \n\n\n\nAndy has been DJing Lancaster’s alternative scene since dinosaurs roamed the earth and started the Ritual Noise club nights in 2011 with partner in crime DJ SonofSam as a way to showcase the contemporary\, club friendly sounds of EBM and Industrial Dance. Since then he’s kept himself busy playing various guest slots across the country including 3 appearances at the UK’s biggest Industrial / Alternative Electronic music gathering\, Resistanz. He’s also a producer\, mix engineer and member of Lancaster’s Industrial pop stars CYFERDYNE and in recent times has taken to streaming on Twitch (like every other DJ in the known universe)Andy has a penchant for shameless floorfillers\, bootlegs\, melodies and things that are probably too fast to dance to. He also hates writing about himself in the third person. \n\n\n\nDJ MYTHOZ \n\n\n\nOur newest recruit – this young whippersnapper is all about hands in the air sounds and LOTS of beats per minute! \n\n\n\n▼▽▼▽▼▽▼▽▼▽▼▽▼▽▼▽ \n\n\n\nBRING THE NOISE!

SUMMARY:Zeitgeist Zero + Death Ingloria + Jan Doyle Band
DESCRIPTION:Ethereal electronica and dark gothic sounds. An amazing audio visual experience brought to you by Leeds’ Zeitgeist Zero\, London’s Death Ingloria and Doncaster’s Jan Doyle Band \n\n\n\nZeitgeist Zero’s sound is a combination of heavy guitars and industrial electronics. They are absolute juggernauts of the UK goth scene who have a brilliant following on social media and have played hundreds of shows throughout the UK and Europe. Their take on goth tends towards the heavier side and combines with a Deborah Harry/Shirley Manson like vocal. However\, the vocal’s pop melodic sensibilities contrast the lyric’s darker themes. \n\n\n\nTheir unique music has received favourable press coverage\, including BBC Radio 6\, Sonic Seducer and Devolution. The band has built a loyal following leading to festival appearances at Wave Gotik Treffen\, Infest\, Whitby Goth Weekend and a headline appearance at Goth City Festival. Their last album\, Ghosts of Victory\, received huge critical acclaim and was lapped up aplenty by fans. Featuring such live classics as Pushed To The Edge and the more pop Don’t Pop My Bubble – they’re songs you just can’t get out of your head. \n\n\n\nThe band has worked with top music producers Steve Whitfield (The Cure)\, John Fryer (NIN) and John Rivers (The Specials). Their three albums and EP have met with international critical acclaim. ‘Dead To The World’ and ‘The Blackout’ were voted “Album of the Month” by popular German music magazine Dark Spy. Lead singer Teresa is also a graduate filmmaker responsible for the band’s video content. The music videos for Satanic Sex Witch and Plastic Diamonds received tens of thousands of views. \n\n\n\nDeath Ingloria explores Humanity’s depths\, its heights\, and its inevitable conclusions through rock music\, comic art and animation. \n\n\n\nDeath Ingloria’s albums are complete Science Fiction story told across songs\, comic book pages and animated videos which play out during Death Ingloria’s performances. Each comic is the narration of the story\, the songs the voices of the characters. \n\n\n\nDeath Ingloria played has Club Antichrist (the worlds largest Gothic fetish club)\, has been made into holograms to perform on two stages simultaneously cross London at The London Sci-fi Film Festival. They have performed at London’s historic 100 Club\, hosted stages at Swansea Comic and Gaming Con\, played London Anime and Gaming Con as well as supporting Sonic Boom Six\, Johnny Dowd\, Jimmy Gnecco\, Senser and Italy’s Elegy of Madness. \n\n\n\nNew album Death Ingloria II: Death By Admin follows the demise of Humanity through the eyes of one lonely and disconnected young office worker as he accidentally destroys the world via a series of minor admin errors. \n\n\n\nJan Doyle Band weave and wind their own unique path through synthpop industrial goth and punk with a spectacularly engaging live show. Never content with repeating a sound they are always adventuring and moving forwards. \n\n\n\n“A band half way to old school goth snagged on David\, slipped in a puddle of glam; in a sense… The Clash on acid. PVC galore\, glam metal hair & makeup for days.”

SUMMARY:Club Velocity/New Mind presents Kristeen Young + Strange Cities
DESCRIPTION:Yves Tumor\, Kate Bush\, Diamanda Galas are all attempts to explain hard-to-describe\, multi-genre artist\, Kristeen Young. But\, they are wrong. You can’t find a comparison because there isn’t one\, and isn’t that a nice change? She plays piano/keyboard in a dissonant bashing style\, sings using a wide range with operatic vocals\, and her lyrics eviscerate in a playful way like an afternoon with a Victorian child ghost. You’ll be dead but you will have enjoyed your own life’s kill. And ….speaking of…..her new (self-produced) album\, The Beauty Shop\, is a song cycle based on the life of a serial killer\, with each song also representing a different major emotion. “But\, it’s really about how life kills our emotions\,” she interjects. The album’s lived-in imagery originates from the beauty shop her foster/adopted mom had in a room in the little St. Louis house where she grew up. Besides the audio of the album\, Kristeen has also shot and edited 6 song videos (herself) for The Beauty Shop and plans to release a visual version of the album in 2023. Never on a record label\, or with management\, continuously navigating on her own\, Kristeen has always been the epitome of DIY. Shortly after arriving in New York (where she now resides) she met legendary producer\, Tony Visconti\, who brought David Bowie to one of her shows and ended up recording a duet with Kristeen (a song she wrote called Saviour). She also toured several times as Morrissey’s opening act. Dave Grohl discovered one of her songs on a mix tape and then contacted her….which lead to him to playing drums on her entire 2014 album\, The Knife Shift. Nick Zinner (Yeahs Yeah Yeahs) was guitarist for her 2017 album\, Live at The Witch’s Tit. Her first live show post-pandemic was Riot Fest\, September 2021. Following by her own curated night at SxSW 2022. Since the June 2022 release of The Beauty Shop she’s been filling rooms in New York\, San Francisco\, St. Louis\, London and Manchester…. touring on her own. She has a West Coast tour booked for early December 2022. \n\n\n\nStrange Cities :San Francisco post punk band Strange Cities was formed from the ashes of several Bay Area bands. Featuring former members of In Letter Form\, Murder of Lillies\, NRVS LVRS\, and Upstairs Downstairs. Drawing on influences such as Echo and the Bunnymen\, The Chameleons\, & JAMC\, Strange Cities’ sound also reflects the foggy\, jagged\, industrial landscape that inspired their name. Whether stitching up pieces of a broken past or reflecting on an unknown future\, their music skirts the fringe of noise and nihilism\, melodic and melancholic\, tragedies and trajectories. A post-post punk if you will. \n\n\n\nWith Daniel Nakazo Clark (vocals and guitar)\, James Levis (guitar)\, Clayton Vorheis (bass and vocals) and Dan Caporale (drums). \n\n\n\nThe band recently toured the western half of the US with Gene Loves Jezebel. On that tour they met Smiley\, UK based producer and drummer for GLJ\, The Alarm. Archive\, Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros. Strange Cities will be heading to Fleet to work with Smiley at his studio\, Sunshine Corner in Feb. \, 2023 \,coinciding with their debut tour of the UK .

SUMMARY:Rockin' Bones - Opening Night!
DESCRIPTION:Music\n\n\n\nWe’ve got top horror rockin’ DJs Andy ‘Grimly Fiendish’ Robinson (Misery of Sound/Black Friday in Blackpool) and Dandy Von Diamond (Darkside of the Lune/The Pub in Lancaster)We will be playing a particular range of music\, but are very happy to take any reasonable requests ! Basically we’re going for the following: Rockabilly\, Psychobilly\, Rock ‘n’ Roll\, Punk\, Surf/Garage\, Gothic Punk\, Sleazy Metal and general Horror !(all guitar based R ‘n’ R\, no Dalek music !) \n\n\n\nVenue\n\n\n\nCheck out The Pub on Facebook. It’s an ideal venue\, a nicely refurbished rock based pub with live bands every weekend and a great new beer garden. We’re in the first floor function room\, which has it’s own well stocked bar and toilets. Please drop us a line if you have any mobility issues and we’ll see if we can sort something out for you. \n\n\n\nCost\n\n\n\nAt the moment we’re hoping to run this night as free entry ! \n\n\n\nCharity\n\n\n\nThis is a free event\, but we will leave a charity collection bucket on the bar and DJ booth if you feel you want to contribute. There will be strictly no pressure !Our chosen charity is a cancer one and is down to personal illnesses and losses. I guess many of you will be aware of the tragic loss of Kathy of Manchester’s Rockers shop and Rock ‘n’ Roll Hellkat fame. Hopefully we can all make a small contribution to future prevention.Appropriately enough we’re going for the ‘Stand Up And Shout’ cancer charity of the late Ronnie James Dio.https://diocancerfund.org/donate/ \n\n\n\nTravel\n\n\n\nLancaster is readily accessible by car\, bus and train as it’s just off the M6 (junctions 33\, or 34) and has a West Coast train line primary station\, but the trains do have a hugely annoying habit of finishing early on a Saturday evening. \n\n\n\nStaying over?\n\n\n\nIn that case\, what about staying over ? The Royal Kings Arms Hotel\, the Crows Hotel and the Ibis are all very nearby and are good prices The Sun\, The Royal\, The Borough and the Toll House are also worth a look. Booking.com will give you a few more slightly further away\, like the Holiday Inn and Premier Inn.

SUMMARY:Kontravoid ~ live at YES Basement
DESCRIPTION:Kontravoid& support \n\n\n\n~ live at YES BasementTickets on sale now via DICE \n\n\n\n~ \n\n\n\nKontravoid’s masked mystique has remained for over a decade. Ever since the release of his self-titled LP in 2012\, the Canadian-born\, Los Angeles-based Cameron Findlay has perfected dark pop with his oeuvre that teeters between the EBM\, electro and goth genres. His productions\, such as 2019’s “Too Deep” and 2021’s “Faceless\,” dive to the most derelict corners of foggy\, strobe-lit clubs: there is no choice but to dance. But there is an uncanny softness and obvious songwriting ability to compose heart-wrenching songs that are both captivating and drenched in melancholy—2018’s “Undone” has been a fan favorite since it came out on Berlin’s Fleisch Records. \n\n\n\nOnstage\, Kontravoid demands the audience’s attention with his powerful performance that balances his specific concoction of harsh beats with his signature bass line rhythmic patterns. He’s toured alongside Boy Harsher\, ADULT.\, Drab Majesty and Hide\, and has remixed the likes of Schwefelgelb and Kris Baha. Truly a man of the shadows\,Kontravoid is an unparalleled fixture in the dark electronic arena.
