SUMMARY:Aesthetic Perfection: American Psycho Tour
DESCRIPTION:AESTHETIC PERFECTION is a 100% independent industrial pop project made up of Los Angeles-born\, Austrian-based producer Daniel Graves and New York based drummer Joe Letz. Over a career spanning 20 years\, six full-length albums\, and numerous singles and music videos\, Graves and crew have reinvented dark electro\, combining industrial\, pop\, goth\, and everything in between.  \n\n\n\nDespite flying under the radar of mainstream audiences for decades\, AESTHETIC PERFECTION are no strangers to the music world; the band has clocked countless sold out dates on headlining tours across both Europe and North America. Their success on smaller stages prepared them for their most recent adventure: supporting Till Lindemann (RAMMSTEIN) on his debut tour for his Lindemann side project.  \n\n\n\nAdding that to their growing list of accolades\, such as collaborating with the likes of Richard Z. Kruspe (RAMMSTEIN)\, Jinxx (BLACK VEIL BRIDES)\, Celldweller\, Nikki Misery (NEW YEAR’S DAY)\, Sebastian Svalland (PAIN / LINDEMANN) as well as featuring tracks on Netflix original programming and the Underworld: Awakening soundtrack\, AESTHETIC PERFECTION continue to poise themselves as a force to be reckoned with. With their most recent full-length album\, Into the Black\, under their belt\, the band is ready to take the next step and spread the gospel of Industrial Pop to an ever-widening audience – with full rein of their creative output.  \n\n\n\nThe instability of the music business in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic led to the launch of the “12 Singles in 12 Months” project in 2021.

SUMMARY:The Calling Clubnight! (Goth/EBM/Darkwave/80s)
DESCRIPTION:The year is 2023 – you’ve survived those final working days\, the festive events\, various meals\, new years’ antics….. finally the Calling is here to get you back to the tunes that matter! \n\n\n\nNote\, there’s only a music license until 11pm\, so get along in good time to have a dance – however the pub itself is open until 2 so there’s far more time to socialise. \n\n\n\nPlease bring cash along for donations to keep us going!  \n\n\n\nTo everyone attending\, if you can\, please take a LFT before attending. We want to make this as safe as possible for everyone attending. Let’s work to keep everyone safe – and if you choose not to\, please respect those wanting to social distance and wear masks. \n\n\n\nEntrance is free but any donations are massively welcomed (will need to be in cash). They’ll be used to cover costs and split across the DJs\, no plan for any profit\, although that is always nice!

Dead Lee) (guitar/keyboards) and currently composed of Fraser and Johnny Borden (vocals/keyboards). They returned in 2019 with the excellent ‘Does Dark Matter’ LP and their live shows are a feast of dark mayhem. They have a new single out in March plus a new LP in September…. \n\n\n\nThey will be joined by the excellent Pink Diamond Revue who exist in a world where ‘60s film soundtracks meet sampladelic acid house in a baggy-punk rathole somewhere in Interzone.Dark Disco will be providing the tunes before and between bands. SUMMARY:IST IST: Glasgow
DESCRIPTION:Scruff of the Neck presents \n\n\n\nDelivering a resolute punch with an acerbic sting in its tale\, new single “Stamp You Out” sees the Manchester band return to the spotlight with commanding form and typically uncompromising style. \n\n\n\nFrom its blistering post/punk guitar lines to its punishing percussives\, “Stamp You Out” creates an impending atmosphere of anxiety throughout. With Adam Houghton’s trademark baritone vocal booming with all the force of an omnipotent autocrat at the lectern of a police state; it makes for a powerful statement of intent that instantly envelops listeners back into the shadow-strewn world of IST IST. \n\n\n\nSpeaking about “Stamp You Out”\, Houghton says: \n\n\n\n“[Stamp You Out] tips its hat to the previous IST IST where the modus operandi was to try and make an impact in the most forceful way; pounding drums and bass and repetitive lyrics. I remember watching a news report where a politician\, whose name I forget\, just kept saying: ‘we need to stamp this out’. I was thinking ‘we need to stamp you out’\, so I wrote an aggressive fight song and a call to arms about it.” \n\n\n\nThe single is accompanied by an official video that sees the band deliver a voltaic performance of the track against a flurry of incandescent lights. Watch it here: https://youtu.be/5iHGzYCGHTk Of the video Keating adds: \n\n\n\n“We felt like the track is a straightforward rock song which required a straightforward video and we didn’t want to over-embellish the visual aspect. For existing IST IST fans\, it re-affirms what we’re all about\, and for anyone new it tells you everything you need to know.” \n\n\n\nThe new single is also accompanied by the announcement of IST IST’s third studio album ‘Protagonists’\, out 31 March 2022 via Kind Violence Records. After securing their status as one of Manchester’s most exciting acts with their 2020 debut ‘Architecture’\, and then consolidating the title with its 2021 follow-up ‘The Art of Lying’; new album ‘Protagonists’ arrives as something of a new dawn for the four-piece. As Andy Keating says: \n\n\n\n“This was our first straightforward album\, which sounds strange given it’s the third one. Our first album was a little bit of a back catalogue\, and the rest was written in the same vein to have a coherent record. The second album was a stab in the dark and written and recorded during lockdown restrictions\, but it broke us into the top 100. ‘Protagonists’ feels like the first album where there’s no pressure.” \n\n\n\nAn album all about new beginnings\, with a nod to the trials and tribulations of love\, tricky family relationships and the feeling of being trapped by the past\, ‘Protagonists’ arrives as an attestation to a band sure of their own identity. With the time and space to experiment in order to solidify their own sound\, Keating adds: \n\n\n\n“We originally started just exploring sounds and textures which appealed to us\, and it evolved into fully-fledged songwriting. There are some elements which hark back to our ballsy days of a heavy sound\, but we feel like this is a band expressing themselves how they want to.” \n\n\n\nOwing its title to songwriter Adam Houghton’s magpie-like method of writing\, ‘Protagonists’ finds the frontman taking prominent characters that have caught his imagination\, whether fictional or non-fictional\, and transplanting them into dystopian worlds with new and uncertain outcomes. As Hougton explains: \n\n\n\n“My process has always been taking inspiration from everything around me including but not limited to TV\, Books\, Movies\, Newspaper\, Articles on Wikipedia\, Crime Documentaries etc. I then use these sources to craft fictitious stories around an imagined persona. The title ‘Protagonists” seemed to work with this method.” \n\n\n\nBlurring the lines between fact and fiction and traversing a broad spectrum of genres\, tracks like “Nothing More Nothing Less” — a “simple love song written from a woman’s perspective” — take on a gauzy and ethereal pop-tinted quality\, while slightly more menacing moments like “Fool’s Paradise” and “Trapdoors” find closer alignment with the band’s brooding\, brazen rock roots. \n\n\n\nFrom future favourites like “Something Has To Give”\, a jittering guitar track about “a stick or twist situation”\, to fully fitted-out classics like the anthemic “Emily” (a live fixture from the band’s earliest days\, which has finally found its place on this record)\, ‘Protagonists’ will provide plenty to pore over for fans new and old. \n\n\n\nRecorded and mixed by Michael Whalley and IST IST at Milkshed Studios\, the album was mastered by the legendary Greg Calbi and Steve Fallone at Sterling Sound (The National\, Yeah Yeah Yeahs\, Interpol). \n\n\n\nA compulsive\, character-driven record from a band hitting their creative zenith\, IST IST will release ‘Protagonists’ in Spring of 2023.

SUMMARY:Black Doldrums
DESCRIPTION:Bad Vibrations is delighted to welcome Black Doldrums to The Lexington on 14th April 2023. \n\n\n\nKevin Gibbard and Sophie Landers produce a dark psych\, contemporary form of gothic post-punk under the name Black Doldrums. \n\n\n\nTheir songs contain hook and lead tribal drums and euphoric guitar textures that frame lyrics about purpose and introspection. \n\n\n\nThe duo have been building up a devout following since their self-released ep on a limited number of cassettes ‘Exit City Lights’ before their first official signing to independent shoegaze label Club AC30 in 2018\, releasing two sold out vinyl ep’s in 2018 and 2019\, ‘Sad Paradise’ and She ‘Divine’. \n\n\n\nIn 2020\, Black Doldrums collaborated with electronic duo ‘TVL’s Jared Artaud\, producing their debut album with grammy award winner Ted Young. \n\n\n\nIn early 2021 Black Doldrums recruited Matthew Holt on bass guitar and in March the same year\, Black Doldrums signed to psych/post-punk giant Fuzz Club Records who released the band’s debut album ‘Dead Awake’ on 11th March 2022.

SUMMARY:IST IST: Birmingham

SUMMARY:Black Doldrums + tbc
DESCRIPTION:London-based Black Doldrums revisit the Northern Quarter after a stormer of a show for Deco Records last year.  Originally a duo founded by Sophie Landers (drums) and Kevin Gibbard (guitar/vocals) they are now a fully fleshed out a trio with Matt Holt joining last year on bass\,  \n\n\n\nBlack Doldrums deal in a dark\, shoegazing psych that melds gothic post-punk with a leather-clad rock’n’roll spirit. \n\n\n\nThis show is expected to sell-out\, so don’t miss your chance to catch them in this relatively small venue.

SUMMARY:IST IST: London

In December 1982\, she helped form Skeletal Family. After departing from Skeletal Family in 1985\, she co-founded Ghost Dance with Gary Marx (formerly of The Sisters of Mercy). In 1989 they signed to Chrysalis Records and released the ‘Stop The World’ album and two more singles\, with ‘Down To The Wire’ peaking at no.66 in the UK singles chart. \n\n\n\nIn 2019 Anne Marie reformed Ghost Dance with ex Harlequyn members\, Tim Walker\, Phil Noble and Dave Wood\, then in 2020\, Stephen Derrig (formally of Original Sin) completed the line up and work commenced on a new album. SUMMARY:Sheep on Drugs + Lizzie and the Banshees
DESCRIPTION:SHEEP ON DRUGS BIOGRAPHY: \n\n\n\nMocking pop culture and sneering at authority\, the U.K. duo Sheep on Drugs began with the credo “sex is death\, drugs are for sheep\, buy the product.” Formed in 1990 by vocalist Duncan X (aka King Duncan) and multi-instrumentalist Dead Lee (aka Lee 303)\, Sheep on Drugs combined sleazy rock and trashy techno and released their first single\, “Catch 22\,” a year later. A grotesque cabaret-styled live show supported the release\, and soon aggressive dancefloor singles like “Motorbike” and “15 Minutes of Fame” and “Track X” (later covered by Grace Jones as “Sex Drive”) All industrial and Ebm club favorites. They made their full-length debut in 1993 with ‘Greatest Hits’ on the Island label! \n\n\n\nLater the duo formed its own label\, Drug Squad\, which released the EPs Suck and Strapped for Cash\, both in 1995. Martin Atkins’ Invisible label would compile the EPs in 1996 as Double Trouble. A year later the new album One for the Money appeared on Invisible\, but Duncan exited the band soon after the release. Lee experimented with the side project Bagman while a remix album (1997’s Never mind the Methadone) and a live album (1998’s Two for the Show) kept the Sheep on Drugs machine rolling. Duncan had become a famous tattoo artist in London by now\, so when Lee contacted him for a reunion\, Duncan agreed to contribute\, but he was unable to join full-time. F**k from 2005 was the next release and it worked in more of the dance music Lee had been experimenting with in his Bagman project. \n\n\n\nThroughout the years they released several more albums and EP’s\, check out their Bandcamp for their impressive back catalogue! \n\n\n\nThese days the line up consists of original member Lee Fraser and Johnny Borden (Computers/Guitar/Keyboards/Vocals) & (Keyboards/Vocals) respectively. \n\n\n\nFrontman Lee Fraser has an re-invigorated energy and emphasises “Sheep On Drugs were 30 years ahead of their time. That’s why Duncan’s old beard is in fashion now. But now I am ready for the hotseat. DastarrrdLee and Motley\, that’s Johnny are going to blow your tiny minds. We’ll have some droogies to help\, yet to be confirmed…Little Alex has grown up and gone to the side of good. He still likes the ultra-violence and the old in out in out. But now the ultraviolence is for the bad guys\, the old in out in out is now for the ladies\, for which Alexander the Great (that’s me Willy WonKy) is a Perfect Gentleman…”sheepondrugs.co.uk

SUMMARY:TRAITRS + Promenade Cinema + The Silence
DESCRIPTION:With their emotive melodies\, propulsive rhythms\, angular guitars and dark cinematic electronics\, TRAITRS have quickly become one of modern post-punk’s fastest rising independent bands. Consisting of Sean-Patrick Nolan and Shawn Tucker\, TRAITRS formed during the summer of 2015 in Toronto\, Ontario Canada. The duo recorded demos with producer/engineer Josh Korody (Nailbiter\, F*cked Up\, Japandroids\, Dilly Dally)\, garnered the attention of Pleasence Records label head James Lindsay and released their debut cassette Rites And Ritual in April 2016. After gaining buzz in the European and North American dark music scenes\, TRAITRS released their critically acclaimed LP Butcher’s Coin (Pleasence Records\, Manic Depression Records\, Alchera Visions) in May 2018. Backed by the strength of lead single ‘Thin Flesh’\, the duo embarked on a series of lengthy tours overseas\, performed in over a dozen countries including showcases at Wave Gothic Treffen\, Castle Party\, Extramuralhas\, Nocturnal Culture Night\, Wavefest\, Canadian Music Week and Pop! Montreal. Their relentless touring schedule and work ethic caught the attention of Schubert Music Publishing’s Thomas Thyssen and Eric Burton\, and in October 2020 they announced TRAITRS as the first signing to their brand-new record label Freakwave Records. This year\, TRAITRS will release ‘The Sick\, Tired And Ill’ EP on 30 July 2021 and the full-length LP ‘Horses In The Abattoir’ on 19 November 2021.
