SUMMARY:TRAITRS + Promenade Cinema + St Lucifer
DESCRIPTION:With their emotive melodies\, propulsive rhythms\, angular guitars and dark cinematic electronics\, TRAITRS have quickly become one of modern post-punk’s fastest rising independent bands. Consisting of Sean-Patrick Nolan and Shawn Tucker\, TRAITRS formed during the summer of 2015 in Toronto\, Ontario Canada. The duo recorded demos with producer/engineer Josh Korody (Nailbiter\, F*cked Up\, Japandroids\, Dilly Dally)\, garnered the attention of Pleasence Records label head James Lindsay and released their debut cassette Rites And Ritual in April 2016. After gaining buzz in the European and North American dark music scenes\, TRAITRS released their critically acclaimed LP Butcher’s Coin (Pleasence Records\, Manic Depression Records\, Alchera Visions) in May 2018. Backed by the strength of lead single ‘Thin Flesh’\, the duo embarked on a series of lengthy tours overseas\, performed in over a dozen countries including showcases at Wave Gothic Treffen\, Castle Party\, Extramuralhas\, Nocturnal Culture Night\, Wavefest\, Canadian Music Week and Pop! Montreal. Their relentless touring schedule and work ethic caught the attention of Schubert Music Publishing’s Thomas Thyssen and Eric Burton\, and in October 2020 they announced TRAITRS as the first signing to their brand-new record label Freakwave Records. This year\, TRAITRS will release ‘The Sick\, Tired And Ill’ EP on 30 July 2021 and the full-length LP ‘Horses In The Abattoir’ on 19 November 2021.

DESCRIPTION:Ghost Dance…… \n\n\n\nAnne Marie Hurst was the backing vocalist for the Goth Rock group the Elements in Keighley UK (until 1982). In December 1982\, she helped form Skeletal Family. After departing from Skeletal Family in 1985\, she co-founded Ghost Dance with Gary Marx (formerly of The Sisters of Mercy). Ghost Dance released several indie chart hit singles through Karbon Records\, which were later compiled on the ‘Gathering Dust’ album. In 1989 they signed to Chrysalis Records and released the ‘Stop The World’ album and two more singles\, with ‘Down To The Wire’ peaking at no.66 in the UK singles chart. \n\n\n\nIn 2019 Anne Marie reformed Ghost Dance with ex Harlequyn members\, Tim Walker\, Phil Noble and Dave Wood\, then in 2020\, Stephen Derrig (formally of Original Sin) completed the line up and work commenced on a new album. Both Harlequyn and Original Sin had played several support gigs to the original Ghost Dance line-up in the late 80’s. The new single ‘Falling Down’ was released on Voltage Records in August 2021.

It was in those formative years that she fell in love with the alternative music scene in the UK but resisted the urge to get behind the mic and forged a path as a creative director. \n\n\n\nIn lockdown she finally embarked on a music journey by joining forces with producers Will Vaughan (Universal Music) and Steven Graham Ansell (Blood Red Shoes) to create a visual album that explores intense topics; such as Narcissism\, Consent\, Eating Disorders\, Verbal Abuse\, Escapism\, Ephebophilia\, Attachment Styles and Break Ups. \n\n\n\nIn every trying occasion in her life it was lyrics that were her refuge and safe space to process and grow. “It’s like English is my third language\, but also my secret world to discuss and experience life and music away from my family.” So it comes as no surprise that the focus of her debut album was to offer others support\, companionship and connection through her work. \n\n\n\nEvery song is visually expressed through a music video\, each a passionate collaboration between her and fellow international talent with projects shot in Bali\, Paris\, London and Berlin. Their impressive post-punk legacy stretches from 1980s BBC John Peel Sessions\, indie chart success Radiant Boys EP\, Grooving in Green\, Snake Dance and Turn to the Sky (featured in the John Hughes movies\, Some Kind of Wonderful)\, all the way to the 21st century reunion\, headlining festivals across Europe & the USA and storming Record Store Day 2021 with sell-out double album Big Soul Kiss. \n\n\n\nAnd now\, for the first time The March Violets are releasing their full back catalogue\, with worldwide distribution via Jungle Records. \n\n\n\nFounder-members Rosie Garland (performer\, poet and author) and Tom Ashton (guitarist\, producer and studio owner) are joined by William Faith (musician and vocalist with Faith & the Muse\, Conflict and the Bellwether Syndicate). \n\n\n\nThey are excited to be back in the studio and recording their new album set for release in the summer of 2023 and also planning live dates in support of this and their back catalogue releases. \n\n\n\nThey are joined by two excellent support acts from USA – Vision Video and Kristeen Young. \n\n\n\nIn 2021 Vision Video released their debut LP\, Inked in Red\, which told the story of lead singer Dusty Gannon (aka TikTok’s “Goth Dad”) and the darkness he saw as a soldier in Afghanistan. This story continues with 2022’s Haunted Hours\, which explores Dusty’s experience as a firefighter and paramedic during one of the darkest times in recent history. \n\n\n\nYves Tumor\, Kate Bush\, Diamanda Galas are all attempts to explain hard-to-describe\, multi-genre artist\, Kristeen Young. Shortly after arriving in New York (where she now resides) she met legendary producer\, Tony Visconti\, who brought David Bowie to one of her shows and ended up recording a duet with Kristeen (a song she wrote called Saviour).
