DESCRIPTION:STIGMATA PRESENTS \n\n\n\nLENE LOVICH Toy Box 2025 UK Tour \n\n\n\nDetroit-born legendary post-punk pop singer Lene Lovich hit the top of the UK charts with her single “Lucky Number” in 1979\, and was crowned the “Queen of Quirk”\, influencing a generation of pop and alternative acts\, from Nina Hagen to Boy George\, and from Madonna to Dresden Dolls. A normally reclusive figure\, Lovich turned her back on the limelight after her third album No Man’s Land was released in 1982 amid disagreements with her record company about her unwillingness to compromise her groundbreaking visual style for the then newly emergent MTV. Subsequently she has recorded only two albums in the last thirty years. Lovich’s unique vocal and visual style\, along with her catchy but experimental songwriting\, has exerted a huge influence over alternative pop culture and garnered her many plaudits and continued interest. She has been described as everything from “Kate Bush on acid” to “the New Wave Maria Callas”. Her hits “Lucky Number”\, “Say When”\, “Bird Song” and “New Toy” are still regular features in the clubs and radio of Europe\, Japan\, Australia and the USA. In May 2012\, Lene joined forces with Subterraneans frontman Jude Rawlins for a celebration of the music of German composer Kurt Weill. During the tour they hatched an idea to form a new band to take Lene’s classic material back on the road. Jude immediately recruited bassist Lydia Fischer and drummer Morgan King in June\, and keyboardist Kirsten Morrison joined in July. It was a baptism of fire for the new band\, after just one low-key show at London’s much-loved 12 Bar club\, their next appearance was headlining the annual Drop Dead Festival in Berlin2025 sees the Lene Lovich Band back on the road. DESCRIPTION:As genre progenitors pushing beat-driven industrial\, corrosive metal\, and electronic body music in the late ’80s and early ’90s\, Front Line Assembly helped formulate this hybrid style before acts like nine inch nails carried it into the mainstream. Initially\, FLA dealt with the dark synth atmospherics heard on their official debut\, 1987’s The Initial Command. The addition of EBM dance beats followed\, heard on releases such as 1989’s Gashed Senses & Crossfire and 1992’s Tactical Neural Implant. As the genre incorporated more metal influences\, so did the band\, who injected jagged guitar riffs and aggressive sampling on 1994’s Millennium. After returning focus to electronic\, techno-oriented beats\, FLA entered the 21st century with a trio of releases that landed the group on the Billboard charts for the first time with 2006’s Artificial Soldier. They repeated the feat in 2010 with Improvised. Electronic. Device. before turning their attention to video game soundtracks on AirMech (2012) and WarMech (2018). They remained active with studio efforts like 2021’s Mechanical Soul.

DESCRIPTION:Spectres have been stirring in the shadows for years now. Dark eyes watching from pallid faces. Siren songs calling to lost souls. In the blackest corners of the UK underground\, a name whispered relentlessly amongst the faithful\, first with curiosity\, then soul-shuddering awe: Zetra. \n\n\n\nTravelling alone\, armed only with synths\, guitar and drum-machine to compose\, The Wanderers’ music could sound skeletal. Instead its early metallic bones have been fleshed-out with the electronic new-wave of Gary Numan and Pet Shop Boys and dreamy\, droning guitars that hark to heroes like Slowdive and Sonic Youth as well as dark contemporaries Deafheaven and Alcest. As harsh as the truths with which they deal may be\, these songs deliver beguiling brilliance. \n\n\n\nAcolytes to spread the word of Zetra aren’t hard to find. British ‘contemporaries’ like Burner and Wallowing\, Celestial Sanctuary and Employed To Serve have been dementedly singing their praises as far back as they can remember. Tours with the heavyweight likes of Creeper and Godflesh\, VV and SKYND have taken their once-subterranean sounds into the spotlight. DESCRIPTION:From the ashes of Spiritual Bats (plural) founded in 1992\, which in turn was spawned by visual arts group I Pittori Alchimisti (Alchemist Painters\, est.1976)\, The Spiritual Bat fluctuates somewhere between old-school goth and postpunk\, darkwave and psychedelic deathrock\, with their own\, unique blend of sounds\, with Rosetta’s witchy vocals and Dario’s mighty\, distorted guitars\, The Spiritual Bat boasts participation in several prestigious events and festivals in Europe and the USA.Based in Italy\, the band has performed at Wave Gothic Treffen\, Whitby Goth Weekend\, Return To The Batcave\, Gotham Sounds\, Castle Party\, Carpe Noctum\, and have toured the USA from coast to coast several times\, performing at events such as The Red Party in New York\, Release The Bats in Los Angeles\, San La Muerte in San Antonio TX\, Vendetta Festival in Denver\, Sogo Festival in New Orleans\, besides innumerable other shows.The Spiritual Bat is an evolution of the “Spiritual BatS” (plural)\, a previous incarnation of which guitarist and former painter Dario was co-founder in 1992\, shortly before going blind. The project has always featured artwork by the pictorial group I Pittori Alchimisti (Biennial of Venice\, 1986 Art and Alchemy section)\, both on album covers and in video projections during live performances. We decided early on that our number one choice to mix the album would be the legendary Tchad Blake who accepted\, and who now says: “not much hits me as genuine these days. New Model Army hits it for me. Wonderfully recorded and produced by the band themselves\, mixing this album felt like a gift.”Full of guitars\, searing vocals and with the emphasis on bass and drums which characterizes all our work\, Unbroken sounds a lot like New Model Army\, but different again. \n\n\n\nThe album will be available as a single vinyl version in a gatefold sleeve – either black or a limited edition in opaque red\, and the CD version will be in a hardback media-book. \n\n\n\nOur past model of taking pre-orders and ‘special editions and bundles’ exclusively through Townsend has been rendered impractical by Brexit (we extend our apologies to everyone in the EU who had problems with the delivery of Sinfonia). DESCRIPTION:An artist of fierce intellect and purpose\, Jaz Coleman –heads out across the UK in March 2024 -to tell it like it is – the UNSPEAKABLE truth in the world of Killing Joke. \n\n\n\nJaz Coleman– the celebrated musician; composer; producer; author; lecturer; traveller; philosopher; actor and Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres\, was born on 26 February 1960 in Cheltenham to an English father and an Anglo-Indian mother of half-Bengali descent. \n\n\n\nColeman studied piano and violin under Eric Coleridge\, head of music for Cheltenham College\, until the age of 17\, and was a member of several cathedral choirs in England before forming the iconic post-punk band Killing Joke \n\n\n\nSince coming together in 1978\, Killing Joke\, combining a fierce intelligence with a thirst for esoteric knowledge that matches a music that is visceral and almost spiritual in its primal spirit\, are like no other band. This is a group who came out of punk and then set out on one of the most remarkable and idiosyncratic journeys ever. \n\n\n\nKilling Joke has played a pivotal role in both alternative music and culture; their influence has been enormous\, with an unlikely roll-call of musicians taking their cues from the Killing Joke catalogue – from Nirvana to most modern American metal to many DJs and dance music mavericks… few\, however\, coming close to the band’s innate power. \n\n\n\nThe intensity of the band’s repertoire has long been revered by fans\, peers and critics\, and this continued to hold sway with their 16th and most recent\, studio album\, Pylon (Spinefarm Records\, 2015)\, showing the original line-up at its potent\, pointed best. \n\n\n\nKilling Joke\, for Coleman\, is not his only outside activity: while fronting Killing Joke the mercurial Coleman has created a parallel classical career. \n\n\n\nWhen Coleman briefly quit Killing Joke in 1982\, he declared his intention to become a classical composer. A decade of studying and ongoing Killing Joke involvement later\, Coleman commenced conducting and worked with some of the world’s leading orchestras. Conductor Klaus Tennstedt described him as a ‘new Mahler’. \n\n\n\nJaz Coleman’s latest classical album\, released on 29th November 2019 ‘Magna Invocatio  – a Gnostic Mass for choir and orchestra inspired by the sublime music of Killing Joke’ was recorded with Russia’s oldest orchestra\, the St Petersburg Philharmonic. This stirring body of work taps into the more melodic\, uplifting aspects of Killing Joke’s musical canon\, using Coleman’s ongoing journey with this hugely influential UK outfit – something central to his being since later teenage years – as the consummate vehicle for a Gnostic Mass (a ritualised celebration of the mysteries of existence). \n\n\n\nWhat we have here is a passion project recorded at a time of international tension and delivered against the odds – “13 digestible epics”\, five with full chorus\, ordered to be experienced in a single sitting\, and conceived to appeal to those not generally engaged with the world of orchestral music. \n\n\n\nColeman’s first purely instrumental album\, released 1990\, is the exquisite ‘Songs from The Victorious City’\, a collaboration with sometime Art Of Noise member Anne Dudley\, \n\n\n\nIn 1995 Coleman then released his first of three albums of symphonic rock music: Us and Them: Symphonic Pink Floyd\, which peaked at Number One in the Billboard Magazine Top Classical Crossover Album chart for 35 weeks. Kashmir: Symphonic Led Zeppelin produced by Coleman with the London Philharmonic Orchestra followed and in 1999 the third symphonic rock album Riders on the Storm: The Doors Concerto with The Prague Symphony Orchestra and Nigel Kennedy was released. \n\n\n\nColeman recorded and released Pacifica: Ambient Sketches (1996) with the New Zealand String Quartet and Oceania (1999) with Maori singer Hinewehi Mohi\, before being commissioned by the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden London in 2001\, for his first large-scale opera entitled The Marriage at Cana. Also\, commissioned by the Royal Opera House was Coleman’s Unwanted\, a concerto grosso for violin\, viola and string orchestra whose theme portrays the plight of the Romany people. \n\n\n\nFurther works followed and in 2003\, he completed a second work with Nigel Kennedy and the Kroke Trio\, through EMI Classics. He then arranged the Sarah Brightman album Harem and wrote a further 12 arias to be recorded with her. \n\n\n\nPerformances have included his Symphonic Pink Floyd at the Berlin Konzerthaus for the 20th Anniversary of the fall of the Wall. Coleman also conducted the NSO Symphony Orchestra (UAE) for the opening ceremony of the Dubai World Cup\, which was broadcast to 160 countries\, and the Led Zeppelin Symphony performed by the Orchestra de la Suisse Romande in Geneva 2023. \n\n\n\nIn a time when the planet seems to be descending further into chaos\, who better than Jaz Coleman to follow out of the darkness.

SUMMARY:Vision Video
DESCRIPTION:In 2021 Vision Video released their debut LP\, Inked in Red\, which told the story of lead singer Dusty Gannon (aka TikTok’s “Goth Dad”) and the darkness he saw as a soldier in Afghanistan. This story continues with 2022’s Haunted Hours\, which explores Dusty’s experience as a firefighter and paramedic during one of the darkest times in recent history. Working on the frontlines of a deadly pandemic immediately after leaving the horrors of war transformed Dusty’s songwriting resulting in a more accessible album as the subject matter has touched us all. \n  \nThe theme of Haunted Hours is most clearly illustrated in the lead single “Beautiful Day to Die.” Musically\, the track is light and airy with a clear ‘80s Brit Pop influence. Of the lyrics Dusty explains: “I wrote this song about how I had to become friends with the concept of mortality because I was around it so regularly. The shock of seeing bodies becomes more pedestrian\, and you’re even able to see beauty in some situations; like when families come together over loss\, or the stories people will tell you about the deceased.” Dusty’s real-life experience is again the driving force behind the record\, imparting both an authenticity and passion unique to Vision Video’s sound. \n  \nNot content to just tell his own story this time around\, Dusty draws from the experiences of Vision Video’s new legion of fans\, or “Baby Bats\,” as they are known in TikTok circles. This new\, empathetic approach to writing is fully realized in the title track “Haunted Hours” which channels the true story of a fan’s husband’s untimely passing that was transformed into arguably the most accessible\, yet meaningful song the band has written. Dusty reflected on this track – “I wanted to capture the ache of loss\, the weight of memory and the appreciation of memory all at once.” This sentiment is realized through the melody of an incredibly catchy chorus that captures loss wrapped in beauty. \n  \nThe story of Haunted Hours would be incomplete without a discussion of the Goth Dad phenomenon. After experiencing so much pain and suffering first-hand\, Dusty threw himself into a character he created on social media to help others deal with their pain\, be it the loss we all share from the pandemic\, or accepting yourself for who you truly are no matter what other people think. This fervent leverage of the time lockdown provided has been the story of Vision Video\, the band used this opportunity to create\, build a following\, and reach out to the world\, letting them know they are not alone. The message resonated\, leading to over 600k followers across social media platforms. \n  \nGoth Dad is now part of the band\, and the love and support provided by the Baby Bats has let the band flourish. Vision Video made a tough decision to not sign to a label and control their own destiny. The Baby Bats have provided the support to make an independent Vision Video successful\, allowing them to make another record on their own terms\, and the band is forever grateful.

As Hougton explains: \n\n\n\n“My process has always been taking inspiration from everything around me including but not limited to TV\, Books\, Movies\, Newspaper\, Articles on Wikipedia\, Crime Documentaries etc. I then use these sources to craft fictitious stories around an imagined persona. Powered by a lust for creativity and a stout devotion to haunting heaviness\, PARADISE LOST have defied the odds by coming back stronger than ever over the past decade. \n\n\n\n“We’re doing really well right now\,” says guitarist and co-founder Greg Mackintosh. “The last few albums have gone down well and we’ve gradually moved back up the festival bills. But for me\, I think about it more in terms of being relaxed and content. It’s a good time to be in PARADISE LOST.” \n\n\n\nFormed in Halifax\, West Yorkshire\, in 1988\, PARADISE LOST were unlikely candidates for metal glory when they slithered from the shadows and infiltrated the UK underground. But not content with spawning an entire subgenre with early death/doom masterpiece “Gothic“ nor with conquering the metal mainstream with the balls-out power of 1995’s “Draconian Times“\, they have subsequently traversed multiple genre boundaries with skill and grace\, evolving through the pitch-black alt-rock mastery of ‘90s classics “One Second“ and “Host“to the muscular but ornate grandeur of 2009’s “Faith Divides Us –Death Unites Us“ and “Tragic Idol“(2012)\, with the nonchalant finesse of grand masters. The band’s last two albums –”The Plague Within“(2015) and “Medusa“(2017) – saw a much celebrated return to brutal\, old school thinking\, via two crushing monoliths to slow-motion death and spiritual defeat. \n\n\n\nConsistently hailed as one of metal’s most charismatic live bands\, PARADISE LOST arrive in this new decade as veterans\, legends and revered figureheads for several generations of gloomy metalheads. DESCRIPTION:Obsidian… dark\, reflective and black: it’s a pretty decent description of the music that PARADISE LOST have been making over the last 32 years\, even though this most resilient of British metal bands have stoically refused to be pinned down to one easily defined formula. Powered by a lust for creativity and a stout devotion to haunting heaviness\, PARADISE LOST have defied the odds by coming back stronger than ever over the past decade. \n\n\n\n“We’re doing really well right now\,” says guitarist and co-founder Greg Mackintosh. “The last few albums have gone down well and we’ve gradually moved back up the festival bills. But for me\, I think about it more in terms of being relaxed and content. It’s a good time to be in PARADISE LOST.” \n\n\n\nFormed in Halifax\, West Yorkshire\, in 1988\, PARADISE LOST were unlikely candidates for metal glory when they slithered from the shadows and infiltrated the UK underground. But not content with spawning an entire subgenre with early death/doom masterpiece “Gothic“ nor with conquering the metal mainstream with the balls-out power of 1995’s “Draconian Times“\, they have subsequently traversed multiple genre boundaries with skill and grace\, evolving through the pitch-black alt-rock mastery of ‘90s classics “One Second“ and “Host“to the muscular but ornate grandeur of 2009’s “Faith Divides Us –Death Unites Us“ and “Tragic Idol“(2012)\, with the nonchalant finesse of grand masters. The band’s last two albums –”The Plague Within“(2015) and “Medusa“(2017) – saw a much celebrated return to brutal\, old school thinking\, via two crushing monoliths to slow-motion death and spiritual defeat. \n\n\n\nConsistently hailed as one of metal’s most charismatic live bands\, PARADISE LOST arrive in this new decade as veterans\, legends and revered figureheads for several generations of gloomy metalheads.
