Marc Almond even did his apprenticeship in the art of running a cloakroom here and\, as well as the club nights\, the venue brought all the big alternative names to the city\, including Depeche Mode\, Soft Cell\, Bauhaus\, Killing Joke\, The Smiths\, The Birthday Party\, Dead or Alive and Leeds’ very own Sisters of Mercy\, to name but a few. \n\n\n\nLet DJs Dan Lomax (The Town & Country Club\, The Cockpit\, Black Lodge) & Richard Miechje (Salvation) take you on a dark thrill ride through the best of the alternative 80s sound-scape\, transporting you back to your favourite decade for a day to remember (whether you were actually there or just wish you had been). \n\n\n\nOur special guests\, Mouth Ulcers\, are a hotly tipped London-based gothic post-punk quartet\, who will be travelling up to Leeds after supporting The Mission at The Town & Country Club in London on Friday 6 November. DESCRIPTION:The Brides of the Black Room \n\n\n\nA secret society\, existing as nothing more than a whisper through history\, The Brides of the Black room began it´s unmasking in late 2020. \n\n\n\nOnce hunted as witches\, and now reclaiming the title as their birthright\, the coven seeks to bring balance to the shadows they’ve had to call their home. Serving the omnipotent entity they know as \n\n\n\n“Mother”\, the Brides took up arms against any that would see them brought back down into obscurity. \n\n\n\nIn season 1/album 1 “Blood and Fire” (2022)\, the Brides was fronted by a trinity of unexpected spearhead siblings with ancient rites and ever shifting technology as their weapons. \n\n\n\nIn season two Alazam wakes up after the blast of whatever was going on to find herself in a somewhat Nangijala state. And so the struggle continues. Who´s in command? Over what? What is the struggle? \n\n\n\nWho is the enemy? \n\n\n\nSeason 2/Album 2 called “Commander” (2025) presented the cult taking new steps further into the story revealing the characters behind the curtains that were there since the beginning of the story; Coyote\, Lynx & Ghostheart. \n\n\n\nThe Brides of the Black Room is now heading on their first tour after only exclusive concerts in their home city of Stockholm. \n\n\n\nPromenade Cinema \n\n\n\nPromenade Cinema create cinematic synthpop with dark allure and melodic intensity. Lush synths and compelling vocals build songs that stay with you long after they end. Their music draws you into a world of shadow and splendour\, where emotion and atmosphere take centre stage. \n\n\n\nFollowing the popularity of their recent singles Play With Fate and Under Review – new album AFTERLIFE cements Promenade Cinema’s reputation as one of the UK’s most distinctive electronic duos.
