The latest edition of THE CURIOUS EMPORIUM will see the ancient traditions and practices of the spring festival; BELTANE brought imaginatively to life\, within the walls of the historic York Medical Society. Smell the ceremonial bonfires as they burn\, see the beautiful yellow of the May flowers\, hear the birdsong\, take part in ancient rituals and feast in our pop-up vegan and gluten free cafe\, which has tea and coffee\, alongside a selection of home made cakes!\n\nVisit our 12 dynamic sellers of the weird and the wonderful\, who all have a plethora of hand-made items\, which you can’t get in any shops. Our traders will be announced one by one\, as we head towards the big day\, so keep your eyes on our Facebook page to see who we have trading with us! Just search “Arcane Exhibitions” on Facebook to find it! By attending and (hopefully) making a purchase from one (or more!) of our traders\, you are supporting alternative culture and independent businesses\, which are two things very close to our hearts!\n\nThe event is multi-sensory. Each room has strong theming\, a customised sound track\, visual stimuli and scent profiles galore\, from the moment you walk through the door!\n\nYou may experience strange activity at the event. The building is reportedly haunted by 2 interactive personality ghosts and 1 poltergeist\, so if you feel a little tap on your shoulder\, or see something out of the ordinary\, you probably won’t be the first! We encourage anyone who is interested in paranormal studies to attend.\n\nEveryone and anyone is welcome to attend\, however we are exploring dark themes in our decorations\, so very small children might get a bit scared! We’re so excited to finally be back with our third Bristol Goth and Alternative Market.\nJoin us for an afternoon of supporting gothic and alternative small business\, artists\, makers\, second hand sellers and lots more.\n\nThis time we’re heading to the stunning Grade II* listed The Mount Without in Bristol\, which holds over 900 years of history. It’s a deconsecrated church in the heart of Bristol\, which has been given a new life as a creative venue (plus it’s got it’s own crypt\, ooo!).\nTrader applications have now closed\, so keep an eye on here for our stall holder announcements.\n\nAccessibility:\nThe main market areas are wheelchair accessible\, and both have accessible loos available. We will have some traders set up on the mezzanine in the main hall\, which unfortunately isn’t accessible for wheelchairs. The streets around the venue can be quite uneven or hilly\, so we’ll put up some information on the best directions to approach closer to the market.\n\nFAQs\nAre dogs allowed?\nYep! Well behaved dogs on lead are allowed within the market. \n\nAre children allowed?\nChildren are welcome to attend the market\, however there may be some sellers of 18+ and NSFW items on display. Under 12s won’t be allowed on the mezzanine area. \n\nWhat are the opening times?\nOpen – 12pm\nClose – 5pm (last entry at 4:45) \n\nWhere can I park?\nThere is no parking on site\, Trenchard Street is the nearest car park approximately a 5 minute walk away.
