I see this as more than just another celebration of the music of the Chameleons however\, as joyous as those occasions have been. Each year\, the annual series has seen the influential frontman of Chameleons: Mark Burgess digging deep into the cult band’s coveted back-catalogue to unearth forgotten gems and dust-off glittering rarities on the live stage. Moving from its spiritual home at Manchester Academy 2 to the O2 Ritz in 2019\, the band will be looking to repeat the roaring success of their last show with a return visit in 2021. \n\n\n\nWith an appeal that is now transcending generations and an audience that is growing exponentially year-on-year\, Chameleons are already planning its follow up. In 2022\, the band set their sights on a mouth-watering headline show at the capacious Manchester Academy. Generally considered (by the genre’s press) as the “Politest Band in Goth”\, Rome Burns have supported Gene Loves Jezebel\, Eva O\, The Last Dance\, The Crüxshadows\, Inkubus Sukkubus and NFD. \n\n\n\nTANTRUM ZENTRUMTantrum Zentrum is a Teutonic post punk band from London. Inspired by both the early 70s German rock and the late 70s New York nowave bands\, they deliver sonic dissonance and poppy hooks with great energy and style. \n\n\n\nCRYOGENICACryogenica are a London based\, alternative rock band that fuses Curve-esque guitar tones and NIN influenced electronics and loops with haunting\, ethereal vocals. \n\n\n\nThis event is partly funded by the Arts Council of England and is organised by Tantrum Zentrum. \n\n\n\n** Please consider giving us your email address when booking the ticket. SUMMARY:Whispering Sons
DESCRIPTION:Belgian five-piece Whispering Sons brings a dark and unique blend of experimental and frenetic post-punk. Combining elements of no wave\, industrial and avant-punk\, the anxious and propulsive instrumentation is relentless and eerily abstracted\, whilst vocalist Fenne Kuppens’ words\, sung in a dramatic and distinctive low register\, inject that extra\, central tension. With their infamously ferocious live shows Whispering Sons has also firmly cemented themselves as a must-see live band. \nOver the last two years\, the band have constantly outstripped their own expectations. With every momentous step forward that they take\, they redraw the boundaries of what they consider possible then duly go beyond them yet again. After their debut album ‘Image’ came out in 2018\, the band has been working on new material\, taking the strongest parts of their old work and refining them even further with the focus on their greatest strength – sheer\, unpretentious intensity. \nThe newest single “Surface” marks the first piece of music to come from their much-anticipated second album – further details to be announced – and stands proudly as a declaration of what is yet to come.

DESCRIPTION:Molchat Doma (translated as “Houses Are Silent”)\, founded in 2017 in Minsk\, Belarus\, stands at the intersection of post-punk\, new-wave and synth-pop. Dark yet danceable\, and with a heavy dose of goth ethos\, their music is reminiscent of the masters that predate them\, but make no mistake: Molchat Doma creates a sound and meaning that is immediately recognizable as all their own. \nThe band is comprised of Egor Shkutko\, who sings the Russian lyrics in his deep monotone\, Roman Komogortsev on guitar\, synths\, and drum machine\, and Pavel Kozlov on bass and synths. \nTheir second LP\, Этажи (pronounced Etazhi\, meaning “Floors”) was released in 2018. It has sold out more than 10000 copies and is currently on repressing due to outstanding demand. The song “Sudno” doesn’t leave the global top viral on Spotify since April 2020.
