The new single ‘Falling Down’ was released on Voltage Records in August 2021. \n\n\n\nSpecial guests are Carpe favourites and goth-synth-punk revivalists THE WEBB. Mixing a punk attitude\, ASF backing\, and Siouxsie-meets-Kate Bush theatrics\, this duo have previously headlined Carpe in their own right. \n\n\n\nOpening the show are the marvellous psych-garage-noir duo from Sicily\, WEST WICKHAMS – they’re on stage 7:30 prompt and are not to be missed! \n\n\n\nCARPE NOCTUM is the biggest and longest-running regular goth club in the north of England. Our resident DJs HGV and Misrule boast a wealth of experience\, with residencies at illustrious Leeds club nights such as Flock and Black Lodge under their belts\, alongside guest appearances at clubs and festivals throughout the North\, including repeat appearances at Goth City Festival and Infest and a recent two-night stint entertaining the masses at Tomorrow’s Ghosts Festival in Whitby. Weaving sets from a broad palette of dark alternative genres and subgenres\, fuelling and fuelled by the dancefloor\, their ethos is that the party is all! Expect tracks old and new\, bona-fide classics and hidden gems\, foot-stompers and lightbulb-changers. \n\n\n\nTHE LENDING ROOM is Leeds’ finest big small venue! With state-of-the-art lighting\, PA and engineers\, you can get up-close-and-personal with some of the best acts around today\, and still sidle back to the bar in short order. SUMMARY:New Model Army - Port Talbot
DESCRIPTION:Formed in Bradford in 1980\, New Model Army’s beginnings were inspired by Northern Soul\, Punk Rock and the incendiary atmosphere of the times. Since then\, they have had a long\, creative and eventful journey. They have been massively influential in ‘post-punk’\, ‘folk-rock’\, ‘political-rock’\, ‘goth’\, ‘metal’ and all kinds of musical sub-cultures but they have steadfastly refused to belong to any club or style that would limit them \n\n\n\nEven without a specific ‘genre’ audience\, New Model Army still have album sales in the millions\, have attracted some of the biggest producers on the planet (Glyn Johns\, Tom Dowd\, Andy Wallace\, Bob Clearmountain\, Joe Barresi) and have built up an almost religious devotion amongst fans. There are very few bands in NMA’s position of being able to record and release what they like when they like\, while maintaining a worldwide following and all without making a single artistic or commercial compromise.
