This December we’re back at the the flapper for a night of goth classics from all eras and its subgenres presented by DJ BOD. Playing the sounds of Siouxsie & The Banshees, Bauhaus, Sisters of Mercy, Type-O-Negative, Nine Inch Nails, HIM, Paradise Lost, Joy Division, Alien Sex Fiend, Rammstein, The Cure, Killing Joke, Evanescence, Depeche Mode, Lacuna Coil and many others! This all awaits at one of Birmingham’s most iconic alternative venues, The Flapper, in it’s gig room downstairs – Not to mention, it has some of the best priced drinks in town!
Formed in Nice in 1992, Corpus Delicti quickly made their mark on gothic rock with their debut Twilight (1993), followed by two more genre-defining albums before disbanding in 1997. Their fusion of post-punk energy and dark melody earned international acclaim, a US tour, and a lasting cult following. Over two decades later, their reputation has only grown: reissues on Cleopatra Records, praise from Postpunk.com, Ascension, and Sens Critique (which lists them among the 35 must-have gothic rock bands alongside Bauhaus, The Cure, and Joy Division), and a dedicated global fanbase keeping their legacy alive.
