Twin Tribes was formed in 2017 in Brownsville, Texas, a border town with a unique cultural blend that subtly influences their music. Luis Navarro and Joel Niño Jr. bonded over their shared love of post-punk and darkwave, deciding to create music that paid homage to the brooding, atmospheric sounds of the 1980s while adding their own modern twist.
