Carpe Noctum: Rhombus, BloodMeridian, and Wax Heart Sodality

Our headliners RHOMBUS surely need no introduction! We’re delighted to be hosting the launch party for their long-awaited new album, LOVE IS THE ANSWER, and you can look forward to hearing plenty brand new tunes from it alongside a load of old favourites.

Special guests BLOODMERIDIAN are based around the ashes of Carpe favourites Sometime the Wolf, taking that band’s Nephilimesque gothic power rock and melding 90’s-to-modern alt-rock influences to create a huge sound that we’re sure will lift the roof. This is their exclusive debut appearance!

Carpe debutantes WAX HEART SODALITY open proceedings. Theatrical gothic post-punk, with hints of classic-era Depeche Mode, we reckon these guys will be filling far bigger venues before you know it. Catch ’em while you can – this is one you really can’t afford to miss!

CARPE NOCTUM is the biggest and longest-running regular goth club in the north of England. Our resident DJs HGV and Misrule boast a wealth of experience, with residencies at illustrious Leeds club nights such as Flock and Black Lodge under their belts, alongside guest appearances at clubs and festivals throughout the North, including repeat appearances at Goth City Festival and Infest. Weaving sets from a broad palette of dark alternative genres and subgenres, fuelling and fuelled by the dancefloor, their ethos is that the party is all! Expect tracks old and new, bona-fide classics and hidden gems, foot-stompers and lightbulb-changers.

THE LENDING ROOM is Leeds’ finest big small venue! With state-of-the-art lighting, PA and engineers, you can get up-close-and-personal with some of the best acts around today, and still sidle back to the bar in short order. Please note the Lending Room is an upstairs venue with no level access.

This is our first event back at full capacity, and we’ll not be enforcing any specific measures. We feel the time is now right; however, we do encourage everyone to consider the level of risk they’re comfortable with, and to make their own decision on what’s right for them, given their own individual circumstances. We’d also ask that you continue to show respect for one another, the artists, staff, and crew, and give folk a little space if they want it.
