DJ's BignickB (Rubberclad Battlefield, Ara, Delete Yourself), DJ Ethereal (Ara), DJ Simon Briggs (Exit the Grey, Delete yourself) will be playing the best of the old & new sounds. Guest Dj's will also be involved
In the Black Midwinter returns and this time, even further away from being in winter and more than likely even less black! Hurrah!
We'll be filling an three days (well three evenings and two afternoons really) with some of the most interesting and exciting acts around.
No ancient legacy acts, just acts of the scene now!
Goth, Synthpop, Darkwave, Industrial and whatever else we happen to think is rather good..

Essential goth rock education incoming from (tomb)stone cold cult UK post-punk adventurers S*x Gang Children; the most vital and slept-on band of the 80s Batcave generation. From the delirious Adam Ant meets Nosferatu yelps and theatrics of Andi S*x Gang, thunderous tribal drumming and psych-glam-proggy weirdness of their ‘songs’. Two cards selected from the 78-piece tarot card-set as utilised by the most famous occultist of the 20th century Aleister Crowley, were behind the first step. ”The Devil” and “The Universe” were the cards pulled that would prophesize a name for a musical-magical-transcendental composition & transformation project: THE DEVIL & THE UNIVERSE. We're privileged to be kicking off the Dark Side of the Tyne 2023 at The Black Bull in Gateshead, with our usual-unusual mix of post punk, industrial, Goth rock, deathrock, EBM, New Wave, Coldwave, Darkwave, Neue Deutsche Hart, and various other alternative musical goodies. THE SISTERS OF MURPHY, the galaxy's finest tribute to the Sisters of Mercy are a firm favourite, and will be playing a full-length set of around two hours.
Many, many people believe they are better live than the real thing, covering early Sisters material to later stuff, with pretty much everything else in between.. Expect to hear favourites like Alice, Floorshow, Walk Away, Marian, Temple Of Love, Lucretia, This Corrosion, More etc, but also album tracks, B-Sides and much more...
Dark Disco will be providing the sounds before and after.

Note, there's only a music license until 11pm, so get along in good time to have a dance - however the pub itself is open until 2 so there's far more time to socialise.
