Magnetic Skies was created by lead vocalist and keys player Simon Kent and Jo Womar also on keys, driven by a shared love of 80s synth-driven post-punk. They recruited guitarist Carlos Aguilar and drummer Lenin Alegria, ahead of releasing debut album, “Empire Falling” in November 2023. The band opened sell-out shows for Altered Images, Heaven 17, Empathy Test and ACTORS, collaborated with BBC 6Music favourites The KVB, and had three songs included on the BBC Radio “Fresh On The Net” mixtapes. In the Black Midwinter returns and this time, further still from being in the middle of winter and more than likely even less goth! Hurrah! It’s what the public really want we’re sure. We’ll be filling an three days (well three evenings and two afternoons really) with some of the most interesting and exciting acts around. No ancient legacy acts, just acts of the scene now!
