Founder Martin Bowes has steered the band through a 40 year career, fuelled by a succession of critically acclaimed albums. Attrition’s newest album, The Black Maria, was released in 2021.

Dancing and Laughing was a club night in Manchester, specialising in post-punk, synthpop, dark indie and minimal wave music, running during the years 2012 and 2013.
During the Covid pandemic in 2020, Dancing and Laughing reappeared as an online version, and in May 2022 this was then resurrected in a small north London venue. This night has since then been a regular fixture every four months, with the EBM special Work! (To Live) in the alternating two months.
This time we have a live act!

Now New York-based, though originally from St. Louis, dissonant piano bashing, operatic vocals, no genre, singer-songwriter. And fantasical self-made outfits.
She's worked with DAVID BOWIE, BRIAN MOLKO, MORRISSEY, MARCH VIOLETS, MIRANDA SEX GARDEN and more and is a truly breathraking talent..

A co-headline evening presenting the finest in dark, powerful, ethereal beauty. The bleak, sinister, melancholy of Jayn Maiven's DARKHER crosses boundaries and genres, captivating audiences with aural spells and other-wordly imagery. Sweden's Erik Gardefors weaves a similar magic with GRIFT, bleak, atmospheric black metal drifting seamlessly into folk and forest compositions.
To have these two acts together represents a rare and wonderful opportunity, and this promises to be an emotionally exhausting experience.
